Overview
Join our small credit union team as a Member Service Representative and Collections Officer. This role offers opportunities to combine empathy with strategic efforts to make the best payment arrangements for the benefit of our member and the credit union.
You'd be responsible to answer incoming calls for transactions and member needs. When our members call the credit union during business hours, a person still answers the phone. This is not only appreciated by members, but also builds stronger relationships that help collections efforts.
Previous experience in this role is not necessary to apply, training is available for the correct person. We are looking for an individual that values a strong team atmosphere, has a desire to work with people, and can analyze data to assist members in positive outcomes with their accounts.
Daily responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Answer phones within 3-4 rings.
- Listening to member requests and process transactions accurately.
- Answer member questions or gathering information to forward the call to the best representative within the credit union to answer them.
- Ensure adherence to consumer protection laws and financial regulations during all client interactions and collection activities.
- Utilize tools provided by the credit union to accurately notate conversations with members.
- Ability to problem solve with member to verify accuracy of transactions and create arrangements to get loans back on track.
- Follow up with members as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive member information while complying with industry standards and credit union policies.
- Research credit disputes and correct as needed.
- Work with credit union team to build an ongoing lending relationship with members.
- Effective communication skills for member interaction.
This position is full time and includes medical, dental, and vision benefits after 90 days. At 15 months you earn 2 weeks paid vacation, and the credit union starts depositing into a retirement account for you.
Pay: $19.32 - $22.09 per hour
