The ideal candidates must possess in depth knowledge about Food & Beverage in addition to superior customer relations skills. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Represents the campus in a positive manner while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for residents and employees alike. Works within the campus programs to promote safety and the well-being of all residents and employees.
2. Upholds the Company’s Mission Statement.
3. Maintains HIPAA standards and regards all medical or healthcare information pertaining to residents and employees as confidential.
4. A minimum of 2 years experience working within a 4 / 5* establishment as Maitre D’ or 3 years as Lead Server
5. Excellent Customer Service Skills and ability to understand and respond to individual Resident’s, Members, Guests needs and requirements
6. Genuine interest and understanding in food and drink – wine and cocktail knowledge is essential
7. Exceptional communication and presentational skills
8. Problem solving skills
9. Ability to think on your feet and under pressure whilst maintaining a positive outlook and attention to detail
10. Able to organize time effectively, forward plan and prioritize tasks to ensure work load is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately. Ability to multitask
11. Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative
12. A natural ability and confidence to sell / promote
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Escorting residents and guests to tables during Lunch & Dinner service
2. Greeting residents with a professional and positive attitude
3. Oversea the flow of guests within the restaurant
4. Manage the Bar and Drink Specials
5. Maintain ambience of Dining Room– lighting, music, cleanliness, hygiene
6. Oversee and pro-actively deal with Resident and Member queries and complaints
7. Advising Residents and Guests on menus & beverage choices
8. Promote special In House events e.g. Winemakers Dinners, Cocktails, Tasting sessions
PREREQUISITES:
A. Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certified in ServSafe in last two years.
B. Direct Previous Experience
- Two years experience in a similar position preferred.
C. Skills:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.
- Experience of or a good working knowledge of using a computerized Point of Sale System
D. Abilities:
- Work indoors for the majority of the work day (fluorescent lights, HVAC system, solid surface flooring, normal heat and cold conditions associated with a kitchen and dining facility, normal kitchen and restaurant noise levels).
- Lift objects of 35 pounds or less over the head.
- Move objects of 50 pounds or less.
- Standing or walking for extended periods.
- Assist with resident evacuations.
