Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, including grilling, braising, poaching, and food production techniques.
- Follow established recipes and menu plans to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with food handling, portioning, and plating to deliver visually appealing meals promptly.
- Support high-volume food production during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
- Uphold restaurant standards by practicing excellent knife skills, proper food handling, and sanitation practices at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant kitchens or food industry settings, with fine dining or high-volume production experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures.
- Skilled in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation.
- Excellent knife skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus.
- Ability to plan menus and contribute ideas for menu planning or catering events.
- Familiarity with food service operations, including serving and food handling protocols.
