Job Summary
As the Mobile Batch Plant Manager, you will ultimately be responsible for launching, operating, and scaling Congruex's volumetric concrete and mobile batching division in support of expanding fiber infrastructure projects. You will lead operational strategy, material sourcing, production quality, and team development while driving profitability and operational excellence. As the Mobile Batch Plant Manager, your customers are Congruex construction operations and project teams, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through operational leadership, quality execution, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)
- Launch, operate, and manage volumetric concrete and mobile batch plant operations supporting fiber infrastructure projects.
- Develop material sourcing strategies and oversee procurement of cement, aggregates, admixtures, and related materials.
- Establish production quality standards, ensure mix consistency, and maintain compliance with applicable industry specifications.
- Recruit, train, and lead operators while developing maintenance, calibration, dispatch, scheduling, and production workflows.
- Manage operational budgets, monitor production costs, and drive profitability through efficient resource utilization.
- Support expansion of mobile batching operations across multiple crews, trucks, and geographic markets.
- Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
Education, Licensing, and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in volumetric concrete, mobile batching, specialty concrete, or related operations.
- Proven experience managing or scaling concrete production or material operations.
- Experience leading operational teams, production planning, and quality control.
- Experience with CLSM, flowable fill, trench backfill, or similar applications.
- Experience supporting underground utility, telecommunications, or infrastructure construction preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong operational leadership and decision-making skills.
- Thorough understanding of volumetric concrete production and batching operations.
- Ability to develop sourcing strategies and improve operational efficiency.
- Experience managing budgets, cost controls, and profitability metrics.
- Ability to establish maintenance, calibration, and equipment reliability programs.
- Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching a new mobile batching or concrete production operation.
- Division-level leadership or P&L management experience.
- Knowledge of state and local material specifications and DOT requirements.
- Experience supporting telecommunications or underground utility construction programs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, twist, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and machinery.
- Maintain visual and audible awareness of personnel, equipment, and surroundings to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and other applicable safety gear.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. |
