We are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual to join our team as an Afternoon Closing Position. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe closing of our childcare center during afternoon hours. Duties
- Oversee the safe and organized closing of the classroom or childcare area at the end of the day
- Supervise children during transition periods, ensuring their safety and well-being until parents or guardians arrive
- Assist with cleaning, organizing supplies, and preparing materials for the next day’s activities
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s daily experiences, concerns, or updates
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and safety protocols to ensure compliance with licensing standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and child-friendly environment in accordance with health regulations
- Support classroom management and behavior guidance to promote positive interactions among children
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is highly preferred
- Familiarity with special education needs and behavior management strategies
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently using child supervision skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in inclusive settings is a plus
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
