PSIMED Corrections, LLC, a leading behavioral health provider for West Virginia prisons, regional jails and juvenile facilities, is seeking a part-time RN (20 hours/week) to provide psychiatric nursing services onsite at the North Central Regional Jail.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, Day Shift
Job Requirements
Provide psychiatric nursing services.
Monitor clients’ prescribed psychotropic medications to assess treatment effectiveness and medication side effects by ensuring all mental health caseload clients are evaluated by the psychiatrist.
Participate in medical treatment review.
Provide documentation in the EMR of clients’ treatment.
License
Requires an active West Virginia Registered Nurse license, valid and in good standing.
Experience
Requires previous nursing experience.
Experience working with justice involved clients preferred.
Must have experience which indicates knowledge of mental health services, diagnoses and treatment of major mental disorders and mental status techniques.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology especially pertaining to mental health.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with others.
Ability to deal calmly and appropriately with stressful situations. Maintain professionalism with clients and teammates.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in accordance with PSIMED Corrections and WVDCR policies, procedures and practices.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, email and EMR.
MUST PASS BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREEN.
