Supplemental Questionnaire Instructions
All interested applicants must file an "Examination and/or Employment Application (Std. 678), a resume, and a Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ). Any applicants who do not complete the SQ (details and guidelines below) and submit it with their application and resume may be disqualified from consideration. Resumes, letters and other materials will not be evaluated or considered as responses to the SQ. The screening committee will compare each applicant's qualifications for the position against specific job-related evaluation criteria developed from the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job classification. Based on the competitiveness of the applications received, only the most qualified candidates will be scheduled for an interview in order to make a selection.
Supplemental Questionnaire Guidelines
When preparing your Supplemental Questionnaire, please follow these guidelines:
*The information you provide must be complete and presented in a clear and concise manner.
*Your answers to the Supplemental Questionnaire must be typewritten using Arial 12point font with 1” margins.
*Limit your response to no more than a total of two (2) typewritten pages, single-sided.
1) Describe your experience, both educational and work related to forestry, reforestation, seed technology, and procurement and testing of plant or tree seeds.
2) Describe your work experience conducting independent analysis of data, synthesizing that data into an assessment of needs, and applying the resulting needs to a decision-making process for implementation. Discuss what tools, equipment or other resources you utilized.
3) Give examples of written communications you have developed or revised to include technical reports, educational resources, research or data analysis, statistics and production metrics, policies or guidelines, best management practices, safety protocols, or general messaging. Include the frequency/amount, intended audience(s), and responses to your work.
4) Describe your experience working with forestland owners or other similar members of the public where you were responsible for providing technical assistance.
• This is a deep class position with increasing responsibilities; candidate’s experience and/or education will determine the range they will be placed in.

Temporary Appointments (TAU) may be considered if conditions warrant. TAU may be made to anyone regardless of eligibility. TAU may not exceed 9 months and will require eligibility to be obtained through an examination process in order to transition to a permanent or limited-term appointment.
