American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a 47-bed acute care facility in Los Alamos, NM, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and active NM or Compact RN license.

Works in the PACU/Pre-op unit of a 47-bed acute care hospital serving as a major healthcare provider for Northern New Mexico

PACU unit has 3 beds located on the 3rd floor

Patient population is primarily adult, with ENT cases occurring once a month
-
Common procedures include appendectomy and cholecystectomy
-
Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2
-
This is a shared position between PACU and Pre-op; no other floating is expected
-
Day shift hours are 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, with some on-call coverage for nights and weekends

On-call requirement: must be on-site within 30 minutes of being notified of a case

EMR systems used: CQI and Medhost

Active NM or Compact RN license required

Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA-issued certifications required)

Prior PACU experience is required; Pre-op experience is preferred

Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Candidate must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months

Cannot be employed elsewhere full time

Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel assignment

Provides post-anesthesia recovery care alongside Pre-op responsibilities in a shared role
-
Open-toed shoes and artificial fingernails are not permitted
