Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver and become a vital part of our logistics operation! In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight across various routes, including over the road (OTR) driving routes, utilizing refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment. Your expertise in commercial truck driving will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on designated routes, including OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper cargo securing and weight distribution
- Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimal routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure timely deliveries
- Manage refrigerated trailers, tankers, flatbeds, or specialty trucks like dump trucks or roll-off trucks depending on cargo type
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with FMCSA regulations
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker)
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving or route driving with a focus on freight transportation
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling techniques
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and manual handling safety procedures
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems efficiently for route planning and navigation
- Understanding of DOT regulations related to driver hours of service and safety standards
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers or specialized trucks such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks is preferred
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and hazard awareness when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials
- Physical ability to load/unload cargo manually or with equipment like forklifts when required
