Moorefield Construction Inc has been in business for over 65 years performing commercial construction of large retail centers, theaters and entertainment complexes, casinos, hotels, and a variety of other commercial projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent for an active project in Redwood City, CA.
The Assistant Superintendent supports the Senior Superintendent in managing the day-to-day construction activities and supervision of subcontractors to help deliver the project on time, on budget, and in accordance with the plans and specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining quality standards and ensuring a strong focus on jobsite safety.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support oversight of subcontractor work to ensure contract compliance, quality standards, and adherence to the project schedule
- Assist in maintaining jobsite safety and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations
- Help monitor site compliance related to SWPPP and environmental requirements
- Assist in preparing and maintaining detailed 3-week look-ahead schedules
- Coordinate and track punch list items to ensure timely completion
- Support project closeout activities and warranty follow-up in coordination with the Project Manager
- Maintain positive working relationships with the project owner, subcontractors, material suppliers, inspectors, and the Moorefield office team
- Help maintain jobsite organization, cleanliness, and overall site awareness
- Participate in and help lead weekly job site meetings
- Provide job site leadership and decision-making in the absence of the Senior Superintendent
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3–7 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with a General Contractor
- Experience supporting or assisting with field supervision of subcontractors and daily construction activities
- Ability to meet tight timelines and project deadlines
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and submittals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project is a plus
- Experience utilizing construction management software; Procore preferred
- OSHA 30 Certification a plus but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
