Duties

- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following proper sanitation procedures, including cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment regularly
- Handle food safely by adhering to all food safety management standards and proper food handling techniques
- Contribute to food preparation tasks such as slicing, portioning, cooking, and plating dishes with precision
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service during busy periods
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or food service settings
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and operating commercial kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food handling regulations
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high-quality standards
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations is highly desirable
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with kitchen staff and team members to ensure smooth operations
