A Steady Hand Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in Dublin, Ohio. This unique position provides overnight support for an individual who values independence, has a great sense of humor, and enjoys meaningful conversation about history and current events.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced caregiver looking for supplemental income in a comfortable, stable environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Safety Monitoring: Provide consistent overnight monitoring to ensure the health and safety of the individual, who has infrequent absence seizures and early-stage dementia.
- Medication Administration: Assist with medications as prescribed via pre-filled pill packets.
- Daily Documentation: Complete daily progress notes both at the site and through our online system.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and sanitary living environment, including cleaning up after yourself during the shift.
- Morning Support: Provide brief Homemaker/Personal Care (HPC) support in the early morning hours (typically 5:00 AM – 7:00 AM) before the individual begins their independent time.
You will be working with 1 male, a "super sweet" and sharp individual who refers to his DSPs as "co-workers". He is very independent with his personal care but appreciates a patient, non-confrontational approach. He enjoys watching TV (especially "The Price is Right"), discussing history, and following a steady daily routine.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in caregiving or as a DSP.
- Ability to communicate clearly and patiently with individuals with cognitive challenges.
- Reliable transportation to the Dublin area.
- Comfortable using digital documentation systems.
