JOB SUMMARY: The CNC Machinist at Ran-Tech sets up and operates numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of mainly metallic (aluminum, Inconel, stainless, titanium) work pieces, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities.
Hours for this position are 5am - 330pm, Monday - Thursday.
Essential Functions:
- Set-up and operate machining equipment, including lathes and mills, for planned jobs in the work center.
- Produce good quality parts on the first piece.
- Ability to read and follow written job instructions, drawings and specifications to manufacture parts.
- Utilize micrometer, calipers and height gauges to validate parts.
- Understand and follow all documented processes in Ran-Tech’s Quality Management System.
- Accurately record job status and hours within ERP system.
- Maintain machining area for cleanliness, neatness and safety.
- Practice safety operating procedures with all equipment.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and produce quality work.
- Ability to behave respectfully and work collaboratively with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Level 3 or higher blue-print reading skills.
- Strong understanding of GD&T methodology and ability to extrapolate various measurements.
- General understanding of material trace-ability control methods in an aerospace quality system.
- Strong leadership skills.

- 5 axis Lathe and Mill experience is preferred.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma and three to five years related experience and/or training in machining operations. Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English.
Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as well as the ability to convert units of measures. Ability to work with GD&T methodology and ability to extrapolate various measurements.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Excel, and Word in an updated Windows environment; General understanding of enterprise software (ERP/MRP systems).
