We are seeking a Director of Wastewater Treatment to provide technical leadership across multiple industrial sites. This role drives compliance, reliability, and performance improvements for complex wastewater systems while supporting capital projects and operational excellence. You will lead troubleshooting, standardize best practices, and mentor engineers to elevate wastewater treatment capabilities across the organization.
- Lead corporate-wide wastewater treatment strategy, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operations.
- Manage and troubleshoot complex wastewater system issues, implementing durable corrective actions.
- Translate operational data into root cause findings, updating procedures, standards, and operating windows.
- Support capital projects for wastewater treatment system upgrades from scoping through execution and start-up.
- Apply best practices across integrated treatment trains and interfaces with upstream operations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Environmental, Maintenance, Lab, and Project teams for alignment and effective execution.
- Communicate risks, trade-offs, and progress with clear, data-driven recommendations for stakeholders.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging wastewater treatment technologies, including biological, chemical, and mechanical processes.
- Coach and develop engineering staff, delivering technical training and fostering consistent best practices across sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering or related field. Master’s preferred.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible wastewater treatment experience, preferably in industrial or refinery settings.
- Proven track record managing wastewater systems across multiple sites with complex technologies.
- Ability to lead teams, develop standards, and drive operational improvements.
- Willingness to work on-site full-time and travel up to 25% to support projects and operational needs.
