Job Summary:
Dependable Highway Express is seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Yard Hostler to join our night shift team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers in and out of dock doors and throughout a busy, high-traffic yard. Your work will play a key role in maintaining the flow and productivity of our shipping and receiving operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, performs well under pressure, and communicates effectively with dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse personnel. You must be able to operate in a fast-paced, congested yard environment, follow established safety procedures, and remain alert to ensure the safety of both equipment and personnel at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate yard truck/hostler to move trailers between loading docks, staging areas, and parking spots
- Spot and shuttle trailers to and from the docks in a timely and safe manner
- Inspect trailers before and after movement to ensure safe conditions
- Communicate with warehouse and transportation teams via radio or other systems
- Maintain yard organization and report any issues to supervision
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on hostler vehicle
- Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations
- Report and accidents/incidents to all equipment.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience operating a yard hostler or similar equipment (yard goat, jockey truck, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license
- Class A CDL
- Ability to operate safely in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
