This position is in-office, with flexibility to work remotely as business needs support, pursuant to the Departments Alternative Workplace Solutions policy.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and experience equivalent to four years of full-time professional educational, instructional or supervisory/administrative work.
Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Graduate coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years.
OR
One year of experience as an Education Consultant 1 or School Nutrition Consultant with the State of Tennessee.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Applicants for this class may be required to:
- Possess a valid driver's license.
Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions. For Executive Service positions, Minimum Qualifications, Necessary Special Qualifications, and Examination Method are determined by the appointing authority.
Overview
The Postsecondary, Workforce, CTE, and Military Readiness (PWCMR) Senior Coordinator will review and revise Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs of study and course standards for the following career clusters: Management & Entrepreneurship; Arts, Entertainment, & Design; Digital Technology; and Financial Services.
This position aligns to TDOE's Strategic Priorities in that it ensures all students have access to high-quality CTE programs, addresses the development of CTE Directors and instructional leaders' skills and knowledge in providing high-quality programs, and expands districts' capacity for promoting and providing seamless career pathways for students.
Responsibilities
The position works closely with local education agencies (LEAs), industry advisory councils, and state advisors of the appropriate Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to promote and provide seamless college and career pathways for students.
