American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring Level I trauma facility CVICU/CSICU experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Work in the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CVICU/CSICU) of a hospital setting
-
13-week assignment length
-
Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM) or Night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM) available

Uses Epic EMR for charting

Candidates will float within scope of practice if needed

Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of CVICU/CSICU experience at a Level I trauma facility required
-
5-6 years of CVICU experience preferred
-
BSN preferred, though diploma and Associate degree graduates from accredited schools (ACEN or CCNE) are accepted
-
Epic charting experience required

Experience with conscious sedation preferred

Skills required include pulmonary artery lines, telemetry, and ventilator management
-
2 professional references required (supervisor level or above)

Provide critical care nursing to post-surgical cardiac patients in an intensive care setting

Facility maintains a natural nail policy
-
Facility is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
-
Background check review required, including background hits
-
Both travelers and permanent staff must be separated from the facility for one year before returning as a traveler

Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
-
RTO requests must be submitted for consideration and are approved by the unit manager; no time off will be granted during the first week of assignment

Facility-required orientation modules must be completed by the Friday of orientation week

Scheduling should not exceed 40 hours per week unless approved by the unit manager
