Job Details:
- Reviews medical records; drafts motions and memoranda; attends depositions; and represents the Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration (OWCA), including the Fraud Section and Second Injury Board, at hearings in district courts and workers’ compensation courts throughout the State of Louisiana. Travels to depositions, court hearings, and other legal proceedings as required.
- Manages a caseload involving OWCA litigation, including Fraud Section matters, Second Injury Board cases, and appeals.
- Responds to discovery requests and subpoenas in a timely and legally compliant manner.
- Interprets and analyzes complex legal documents, statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Drafts legal memoranda related to non-litigated workers’ compensation matters.
