Are you looking for flexible work but still want to feel like part of a team?
We are looking for a few dependable individuals to join our substitute team. Unlike a traditional on call position where you may go weeks without stepping inside the center, our substitutes will have the opportunity to work at least one scheduled shift each week. This allows you to become familiar with our children, classrooms, teachers, routines, and expectations before being asked to step in for coverage.
When a teacher is absent, we need someone who already knows our center and can walk into the classroom ready to help.
What this position may include:
- At least one scheduled shift per week
- Additional hours when available
- Coverage for staff absences, appointments, training, and emergencies
- Part time or full day substitute shifts
- Working with different age groups based on the center’s needs
Hours will vary. Some shifts may be shorter part time shifts, while full day coverage may include schedules such as:
- 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Substitutes who accept last minute or emergency coverage may receive a higher hourly rate for those shifts.
This position is a good fit for someone who:

- Enjoys working with children of different ages
- Can follow established classroom routines
- Is comfortable stepping into different classrooms
- Takes initiative and does not need constant direction
- Understands that supervision and safety always come first
Previous childcare experience is preferred but not required for the right person. Applicants must be able to meet all North Carolina child care employment and background check requirements.
This position does not guarantee full time hours. We are looking for individuals who genuinely want flexible, ongoing work and who can become reliable members of our team.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
