Outpatient Physical Therapist – VA Mare Island (VA Northern California Health Care System)
Location: Vallejo, CA (Mare Island Outpatient Clinic)
Job Summary: Testudo Logistics is seeking a dedicated and clinical-focused Physical Therapist to provide outpatient rehabilitative services at the VA Mare Island Outpatient Clinic. As a key member of the VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) team, you will serve a diverse Veteran population, providing comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatments to improve mobility, relieve pain, and restore function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough initial evaluations of Veteran patients to determine physical therapy diagnoses and treatment goals.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care incorporating therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and modalities.
- Provide ongoing clinical documentation in the VA’s Electronic Health Record (CPRS) in strict accordance with VHA standards and timelines.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Primary Care, Orthopedics, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of a Physical Therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient orthopedic or rehabilitative setting preferred.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in post-operative rehabilitation, musculoskeletal injury management, and geriatric care.
- Clearance: Must be able to pass a federal background investigation (NACI) for a PIV credential and VISTA/CPRS access.
