Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans focused on infant growth, including sensory activities, motor skill development, and early literacy education.
- Create a warm, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and emotional security.
- Monitor and document each child's progress through observations, assessments, and standardized testing when appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's milestones, behaviors, and developmental needs to foster strong partnerships.
- Manage classroom routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and health safety protocols in compliance with mandated reporting laws and childcare standards.
- Collaborate with specialists in special education or early intervention to support children with diverse learning needs or developmental delays.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and compliance documentation to ensure a high standard of child welfare and safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, particularly with infants or toddlers.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with parents, colleagues, and children.
- Background in early childhood education or preschool teaching; experience in special education or early intervention is a plus.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, physical activity (including experience teaching physical education), and math fundamentals suitable for infants’ developmental stages.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom routines efficiently while fostering a nurturing environment conducive to learning.
