American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a travel contract requiring Epic EMR proficiency, PALS certification at time of hire, and a minimum of 3 years of ED experience.

Position is in a hospital Emergency Department

Variable shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week

Epic EMR used; experience is required
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Current certifications required at time of hire: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA)
-
TNCC certification required within 1 year of hire
-
Demonstrated competency in IV Sedation required within 6 months of hire
-
Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience required
-
Must have worked in the ED specialty within the last 3 months
-
Epic EMR experience required

MICN and CEN certifications preferred

BSN preferred
-
Two supervisor references required: one from within the past year, one from within the past two years
-
Active, unrestricted RN license with no prior disciplinary actions on record

Provides nursing care based on the nursing process, consistent with the medical plan of care and patient/family input

Collaborates with physicians and the broader healthcare team to coordinate patient care across all age groups
-
Incorporates patient education and discharge planning into the overall care plan
-
Delegates appropriate aspects of care to nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice

This position is represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA)

RTO is limited to 5 days for the duration of the contract
