Job Summary
- Position: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Location: Cleveland, Ohio
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights — 3×12s, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Pay for Traveler: $1900 - $2200
- Pay for Local: $52
Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments by evaluating vital signs, respiratory status, and medical histories to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer respiratory treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and mechanical ventilation support using advanced respiratory devices.
- Manage ventilator settings and troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal respiratory support for critically ill patients.
- Assist in emergency situations including cardiac arrest responses and neonatal resuscitation procedures with precision and composure.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively while adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and responses accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pulmonologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patient progress continuously by analyzing vital signs and arterial blood gases; adjust therapies accordingly.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, device usage, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain proficiency in the latest respiratory therapy techniques through ongoing training and certification renewal.
Requirements:
- CRT or RRT accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RRT experience
- Ohio RRT license required and must be in hand
- NBRC certification required and active/in hand
- BLS required and active/in hand
