Business Development Representative (Home Care)
Detroit, MI | Full-Time | Base Salary + Bonus Opportunities!
Are you an experienced healthcare business development professional with an established network of referral sources throughout the Detroit metro area? We're partnering with a growing, reputable home care agency seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to expand referral partnerships and drive new client growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on relationship-building, enjoys working independently in the field, and has a proven track record developing referral sources within the healthcare community. In this role, you'll educate referral partners on non-skilled home care services that help seniors remain safely in their homes while supporting families and caregivers. Many of the services provided are reimbursable through Medicaid programs, allowing eligible individuals to receive quality in-home care without requiring skilled nursing services.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain relationships with churches, community centers, senior centers, physician offices, hospitals, case managers, social workers, rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, long-term care facilities, discharge planners, and other community referral sources throughout your assigned territory.
- Generate qualified referrals for non-skilled home care services.
- Educate referral partners on available home care services and how they benefit patients and families.
- Conduct in-person meetings, networking events, lunch-and-learns, presentations, and community outreach activities to increase referral partnerships and brand awareness.
- Build long-term relationships with referral sources through consistent communication and follow-up.
- Collaborate with internal leadership to ensure a seamless transition from referral to client onboarding.
- Track referral activity, maintain CRM documentation, and provide updates on business development efforts.
- Represent the organization professionally while serving as a trusted resource within the healthcare community.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of business development, community outreach, physician liaison, or healthcare marketing experience.
- Experience within home care, home health, hospice, senior care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, behavioral health, or another post-acute healthcare setting preferred.
- Existing provider and community relationships throughout the Detroit metropolitan area are highly preferred.
- Proven ability to develop new business and consistently grow referral volume.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently.

- High school diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
