Front Desk Coordinator — Part-Time
Active Health Chiropractic | St. George, Utah
Monday & Wednesday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM (~21 hrs/week)
About Us
Active Health Chiropractic is part of the Integrated Health and Wellness Group, a multi-specialty clinic family offering chiropractic, primary care, mental health, and wellness services in downtown St. George. Our front desk isn't a waiting-room accessory — it's the engine of the clinic. The person in this seat is the first and last impression of every visit and the operational hub connecting patients, providers, and billing.
The Role
You'll run the front desk from open to close on your scheduled days: greeting every patient within seconds, managing a busy multi-provider schedule, and keeping the clinic humming behind the scenes. This is a role for someone who likes being genuinely busy, takes pride in getting details right, and finds satisfaction in a smoothly-run day.
What You'll Do
- Open and close the clinic to a documented standard (yes, there's a checklist — you'll love it or learn to)
- Schedule appointments in AdvancedMD, our practice management system, using structured booking methods that keep providers' days full and patients' waits short
- Check patients in and out: verify demographics and insurance, collect copays and payments (cash, check, card), and rebook follow-ups
- Verify insurance eligibility, track visit authorizations, and maintain accurate patient records
- Support DOT physical exams end-to-end, including federal registry data entry
- Run our hyperbaric therapy chamber sessions (full training provided — it's easier than it sounds and patients love it)
- Answer phones within two rings, manage voicemail and clinic email, and keep a daily task log so nothing falls through the cracks
- Light daily cleaning to keep the clinic patient-ready
Requirements
- Prior experience working in an office setting — you're comfortable with the rhythm of professional office work: phones, scheduling, email, and multi-tasking with accuracy
- Genuinely comfortable and cheerful working with patients face-to-face — you enjoy people, it shows, and a full waiting room energizes you rather than drains you
- Comfortable with computers and able to learn new software quickly (AdvancedMD or other medical office software experience is a plus, not a requirement)
- Professional in communication, appearance, and discretion — you'll handle protected health information and be trained on HIPAA
- Dress code: clean scrubs are daily wear; jackets and other over-layers worn at the desk must have a plain front — no prints, logos, or characters (sorry, Scooby-Doo stays home)
- Reliable. The clinic opens because you showed up fifteen minutes early
Who Thrives Here
Warm and unflappable with people; precise and consistent with details. A self-directed learner — when you don't know something, you look it up, figure it out, and write it down so you never have to ask twice.
Pay & Growth
Starting pay typically ranges from $15–$18/hour depending on experience, with a written, competency-based raise schedule — you'll always know exactly which skills earn the next increase. Employee discounts on clinic services included.
Training
No chiropractic or medical office experience required — but office fundamentals are. You'll receive our complete self-guided Front Desk Academy training program — a structured course with hands-on practice, checkpoints, and a skills assessment — plus direct support from our management team. We invest heavily in training because we promote from competence.
