Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Leasing Manager to lead our property leasing operations with enthusiasm and precision. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the leasing process from initial inquiry to lease signing, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective tenants while maximizing occupancy rates. Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire leasing cycle, including marketing available units, conducting property tours, and closing lease agreements.
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi to track leads, manage tenant information, and generate reports.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 guidelines, and other relevant legal standards during all leasing activities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure properties are in excellent condition for showings and move-ins.
- Handle legal administrative tasks related to lease contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and filing documents accurately.
- Manage tenant relations by providing exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries promptly, and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Upsell additional property services or amenities to prospective tenants to enhance occupancy and revenue.
- Maintain detailed records of leasing activities, data entry accuracy, and filing of all relevant documents for audit readiness.
- Conduct regular training on landlord-tenant law updates and Fair Housing regulations to ensure team compliance.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop strategies that attract qualified applicants through various channels.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management or real estate leasing with a strong understanding of property leasing processes.
- Knowledge of UHAC, Section 8 programs, and Fair Housing regulations.
- Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms; experience with AI is a plus.
- Strong legal administrative skills including contracts management and legal documentation review.
- Excellent customer service skills paired with effective phone etiquette and conflict management abilities.
- Familiarity with landlord-tenant law and fair housing practices to ensure compliant leasing procedures.
- Ability to negotiate lease terms confidently while maintaining positive relationships with tenants and vendors.
- Office experience with data entry, filing systems, and general administrative tasks required for smooth operations.
- Demonstrated sales skills with a focus on upselling amenities or services that benefit residents and the property’s success.
- Facilities management knowledge related to property maintenance coordination is desirable.
NJ Real Estate License is required.
