Job Title: Line Lead Department: Packaging

Position Summary:
Directs and coordinates the activities of line workers on assigned production line, ensuring that the line is operating in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Directs, leads and monitors production line staff to ensure the quality of product meets the expectation of the customer in accordance with work order and production kit specifications.
- Communicates constantly with Packaging Operators regarding work order requirements, operational issues, and productivity.
- Oversees all changeovers to ensure they are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensures the productivity of the label machine and changes out labels as needed.
- Identifies operational concerns and communicates with Production Supervisor and Maintenance Technicians.
- Continuously checks product to ensure specified requirements are met and that all damaged or defective products are pulled from the line.
- Completes production kits and required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Analyzes and resolves production line issues or assists line workers in solving issues.
- Communicates with Forklift Operator regarding replenishment needs to ensure that product is delivered to production line in timely manner.
- Ensures a clean and safe work environment.
Marginal Functions:
- Oversee assignments and coordinate breaks for all employees assigned to machine
- Make recommendations to stop productions based on quality or maintenance issues
- Ensures that required materials are available to meet production needs and that materials meet quality requirements.
- Strives for continuous improvements in production process.
- Attends daily production meetings.
Job Specifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working on a production line in a fast-paced environment, preferred.
- Good leadership skills and ability to prioritize projects.
- Attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to understand, enforce and follow company policies and procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Good prior attendance and punctuality record.
Required

2 year(s): Experience leading or coordinating production line employees, including assigning work and coordinating breaks.

2 year(s): Experience identifying and escalating quality issues, with the ability to recommend stopping production when necessary.

2 year(s): Experience ensuring materials are available and meet quality standards before and during production runs
Preferred

Experience leading teams in a manufacturing setting, including directing employees, monitoring performance, and ensuring customer quality specifications are met.

Experience managing or supporting product changeovers on production lines
