Town Supply is hiring for a dependable, detail-oriented Welding Shop Associate to join our metal fabrication team in Pottstown, PA. If you’re comfortable around tools, can read a cut sheet like a pro and enjoy building things that last, we want to meet you.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Operate various shop tools including MIG welders, radial arm saw, hydraulic press, drill press, angle grinder, orbital sander, pneumatic hand tools, and band saw.
- Read and interpret work orders and cut sheets to layout hardware preps accurately.
- Fabricate and modify metal components to match specifications.
- Contribute to a positive and professional environment by building strong relationships with vendors, customers, and coworkers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
PHYSICAL AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift over 75 pounds as needed.
- Stand and walk for most of the workday.
- Operate forklifts, stand-up lifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Safely and efficiently handle power tools and hand tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills (fractions, decimals, measurements).
- Competence with Windows computers and software.
- Daily commute to our warehouse in Pottstown, PA.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Welding and/or metal fabrication experience.
- Proficiency with various metal working power tool.
- 2+ years of experience working in a welding shop welding 14GA to 18GA steel.
- Familiarity with Excel, Outlook, and online ERP systems.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- $22 - $28 per hour based on experience level.
- 42.5 hour work week / 40 base hours, plus 2.5 (time and half hours) each week.
