Duties
- Provide comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
- Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access, assist with diagnostic procedures, and coordinate patient care across the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform advanced nursing procedures, including wound care, catheterization, tracheostomy care, tube feedings, and patient monitoring.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, patient responses, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, disease prevention, and discharge instructions.
- Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) while providing clinical supervision.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide rapid assessment and intervention when necessary.
Skills
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- Experience in acute care, long-term care, outpatient, home health, rehabilitation, or other clinical healthcare settings preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient care management skills.
- Proficiency in medication administration, IV therapy, injections, and patient monitoring.
- Knowledge of nursing standards, infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Strong documentation skills with experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and perform effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and/or PALS certification preferred based on clinical setting.
