Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Lead Teacher to create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, classroom management, and curriculum development. This role involves designing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, fostering social-emotional development, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. The Preschool Lead Teacher will serve as a role model and leader within the classroom, promoting a positive learning atmosphere that supports each child's individual growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Manage daily classroom activities to promote active learning, social skills, and emotional development.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to create a respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
- Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress through observations and standardized testing when appropriate.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and staff to support each child's unique needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate effectively with families regarding developmental milestones.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to provide a secure environment for children.
- Supervise assistant teachers and support staff, providing guidance on lesson planning and classroom management strategies.
- Incorporate diverse teaching methods such as tutoring, classroom experience sharing, and teaching physical education to foster well-rounded development.
- Stay current with best practices in childhood development, childcare, daycare operations, and private school standards.
Skills
- Extensive experience in early childhood education with a focus on preschool settings.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development across various subjects including literacy education, math, and physical education.
- Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention programs.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement.
- Ability to develop lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles and developmental stages.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant to preschool assessment standards.
- Knowledge of Montessori methods or other specialized educational philosophies is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports child welfare and development.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
