Monday - Friday from 2PM - 6PM (up to 30 hours with planning time and occasional weekends needed.)
Primary Function
Directs and manages overall daily operations of the afterschool program at various locations under the control of the organization. Supports a comprehensive, outcome-driven programming. Provides supervision of staff and personnel issues. Manages facility. Engages and supports a Parent Advisory Council, community relations, volunteers, and membership administration.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Youth Programming
- Supervise a team of chlid care providers including setting weekly schedules
- Establish site programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that supports Youth Development Outcomes
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment, maintain facilities, equipment and supplies
- Support the organization's strategic plan
- Review all attendance and scans weekly to ensure data in MyClubHub/ Salesforce is correct.
- Act as a positive role model for club members and staff, promoting good behavior, respect, and teamwork.
Resource Management
- Ensure operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of physical property and equipment of unit both indoor and outdoor
Partnership Development
- Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations
Marketing and Public Relations
- Support public relations activities to increase visibility of program services, and activities with in the club and community
- Work closely with Resource Development & Marketing staff to help promote the club
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in regular meetings with the Program Director and other site coordinators to discuss improvements and adjustments to the scanning system.
- Track supplies and equipment
- Work with staff on special events to carry out programs
- Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan
- Assume other duties as assigned
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Site staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards. Discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Has regular contact with members
- External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Associate degree in education, youth development, social work, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with at least one year experience in a supervisory role
- A minimum of three years of work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
- CPR/First Aid, EpiPen and injectible medications certification
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
- Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
- Working knowledge of budget control, and management.
- Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
- Ability to work nights and some weekends as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Physical requirements include some physical exertion such as lifting (up to 40 lbs.), stretching and bending in a Club setting as well as standing for long periods of time. The work environment is in a club environment and includes interaction with children ages 6-18 and can be noisy at times. Able to go from sitting to standing position. Required to stand or walk for long periods of time.

Pay: $20.50 - $23.00 per hour

Experience:
- supervising employees: 1 year (Required)
- childcare experience (school, afterschool or camp setting): 3 years (Required)
