SUMMARY:
The Painter supports a safe, clean, and well-maintained school district environment by completing painting, surface preparation, repairs, and related maintenance work across district facilities. This position helps preserve school buildings and grounds, supports daily operations, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to students, staff, and school activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Safely use ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other access equipment as needed.
● Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.
● Repair wall and ceiling surfaces, including patching holes and finishing repairs to a paint-ready condition.
● Work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers, school staff, and administrators to support school operations.
● Inspect, clean, and maintain assigned tools, equipment, and materials.
● Paint and refresh markings on parking lots, playgrounds, and other district property as assigned.
● Apply paints, coatings, stains, and other finishing materials using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other trade-related equipment.
● Operate and maintain painting equipment, including airless sprayers, cup guns, and other specialized applicators.
● Support seasonal operations, including snow removal and snow plowing, as assigned.
● Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED AND PREFERRED):
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Experience in painting or a closely related trade.
● Working knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and equipment used in the painting trade.
● Valid driver’s license and ability to meet district driving requirements annually in accordance with Board policy.
● Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders.
● Experience working in a school district or other public facility setting is preferred. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.87 - $28.17 per hour
