Are you the next voice of Nantucket Whalers athletics?
Nantucket Community Television (NCTV) is seeking a dynamic Sports Broadcast Host/Producer & Technician to lead our Nantucket Sports Connection broadcasts. This is a unique opportunity to become the on-air voice and behind-the-scenes producer of live Nantucket High School sports while helping tell the stories of the Island's student-athletes.
Our ideal candidate is an energetic storyteller with outstanding play-by-play skills, strong technical instincts, and a passion for live television. You'll produce and host broadcasts covering football, soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and other Whalers athletics while working alongside community volunteers and student crew members.
In addition to sports production, you'll assist in producing live broadcasts of Town of Nantucket government meetings. Experience in government meeting production is helpful but not required – training will be provided.
What You'll Do
- Host exciting live play-by-play broadcasts of Nantucket Whalers athletics.
- Produce and direct multi-camera sports livestreams and cablecasts.
- Tell compelling stories about student-athletes, coaches, and the Nantucket community.
- Operate broadcast production equipment, graphics, replay systems, and livestreams.
- Mentor volunteers and students interested in television production.
- Assist with live production of Town government meetings.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
- Outstanding play-by-play announcing and storytelling abilities.
- Strong knowledge of football, soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, baseball & softball.
- Experience producing live sports broadcasts.
- Familiarity with broadcast switching, audio, cameras, graphics, and livestreaming.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced live production environment.
- A collaborative attitude and enthusiasm for community media.
Professional experience is valued more than a specific degree. If you've called games, produced live broadcasts, or built your skills through hands-on experience, we'd like to hear from you.
