JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision performs very specific skilled work. Maintains the plant’s mechanical, diesel, electrical, and electronic equipment. Welds to repair and fabricate components essential to production processes. Maintains and repair’s structure, piping, fixtures and equipment. Performs predictive and preventive maintenance. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:30 AM–9:00 PM, plus two Saturday morning shifts per month
Responsibilities
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, and driveline components
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, sensors, and control modules
- Diagnose, repair, and program fuel injectors and injection pumps
- Perform complete valve adjustments to factory specifications following OEM procedures
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair DPF and DEF systems, including regeneration issues
- Use intermediate to advanced diagnostic software to identify engine faults
- Conduct brake system inspections, adjustments, and repairs
- Inspect and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including hoses, fittings, and cylinders
- Perform tire inspections, rotations, and balancing
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections
- Diagnose and repair air brake systems, including air compressors, dryers, and valves
Basic Maintenance
- Tire mounting, dismounting, and audits
- Battery maintenance
- Lighting system repair
- Lubrication and general shop equipment operation
Shop Maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues
- Stay current on industry trends and technical advancements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally, with assistance as needed
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and working in confined spaces under vehicles and equipment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift
- Manual dexterity for handling tools, small parts, and precision instruments
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when servicing equipment
- Comfortable working with and around heavy machinery, moving vehicle parts, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
Working Conditions
- Work is performed both indoors in shop environments and outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
- Exposure to diesel fumes, exhaust, grease, and industrial noise typical of a heavy equipment shop
- Some tasks performed in non-climate-controlled environments (yard, outdoor equipment, field repairs)
- Required to wear PPE including but not limited to safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection as conditions dictate
Required Experience:
- 2 years of Diesel Mechanic experience
- DOT Certified Mechanic
- Hands on experience with lube, oil, filter, brakes, tire (auto, lt truck, commercial, and farm) preventative maintenance fluid flushes.
- Locate, diagnose and repair mechanical malfunctions in gas and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot regeneration systems
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
- Must have experience using a standard/metric wrench and socket set, screwdriver s, hammer, impact gun and sockets, pry bar, alignment toe hooks, air hammer, tape measure, vise grips, torque bits, wheel bearing socket set, 12 volt test light, and oil filter tools to perform the duties of the GMT position
- Must be able to lift 75 Lbs. easily
- Lube tech: 1 year (Required)
- Truck Tire Installer: 1 year (Required)
- Must be able to provide your own tools
