Shelia's Transportation Services is a locally owned transportation provider proudly serving the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) and Durham Public School System (DPS). We are currently hiring dependable, caring, and safety-focused School Van Drivers to safely transport students with special transportation needs.

What You'll Drive
What You'll Do
As a School Van Driver, you'll safely transport students to and from school while providing exceptional customer service to families and school staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Safely transport students on assigned routes.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure students are properly secured using seat belts, child restraints, wheelchairs, and other approved safety equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, parents, and school personnel.
- Report route concerns, incidents, or vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow all company policies, traffic laws, and WCPSS transportation procedures.
- Help create a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for every student.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable driving history
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass:
- Criminal Background Check
- Drug & Alcohol Screening
- DMV Record Review
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
Paid Training Provided
No professional driving experience? No problem. We provide paid training that includes:
- Student Transportation Safety
- CPR & First Aid Certification
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Emergency Procedures
- Student Securement Procedures
