Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and specialized trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks on assigned routes.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo including hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues, maintaining compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, managing delivery documentation and obtaining necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
- Follow all safety protocols related to hazardous materials regulations during transportation and handling of dangerous goods.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, cargo details, and route information in accordance with DOT regulations.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving across regional or OTR routes.
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, manual handling techniques, and logistics cargo handling.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking.
- Ability to operate various types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and freight haulers.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods.
- Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred but not required; must be comfortable operating manual handling equipment when necessary.
- Strong understanding of truck driving safety practices including load securement and vehicle maintenance checks.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
