A well-established, global manufacturer serving high-growth technology and industrial markets is hiring a Facilities Manager to lead site facilities operations for a complex environment that includes office, manufacturing, warehouse, and support spaces. This role owns facilities strategy, daily reliability, preventative maintenance, vendor performance, capital projects, and environmental/health/safety compliance.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance long-term planning with day-to-day execution, keep critical systems running, and drive continuous improvement in safety, uptime, and cost.
What you’ll do
Facilities management and planning
- Lead facility improvements, renovations, expansions, and space planning to support business growth and operational needs.
- Own site maintenance and operations for buildings, grounds, and infrastructure across manufacturing and office areas.
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Oversee critical building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, access control/security, and related infrastructure.
- Evaluate capacity and space utilization; partner with leaders to forecast future facility, equipment, and space requirements.
- Drive cost reduction, energy efficiency, sustainability, and overall facilities performance improvements.
- Manage facilities operating and capital budgets; plan, prioritize, and execute infrastructure investments.
- Lead and develop internal maintenance/facilities staff while coordinating contractors and service providers.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Provide leadership and oversight of the site’s EHS programs, culture, and compliance expectations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state/local regulations; maintain required permits, records, certifications, and reporting.
- Implement and maintain safety policies, procedures, training, audits/inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Review incidents/near misses and ensure corrective/preventive actions are completed and documented.
- Support regulatory inspections and audits; communicate performance trends, risks, and improvement actions to leadership.
Project management
- Lead facility capital projects from scope definition through completion (planning, budgeting, schedules, contractors, and deliverables).
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and execute safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage contractor selection, bid reviews, and contract negotiations; track progress and provide regular status updates.
Vendor and contract management
- Manage relationships with facility vendors and suppliers, negotiate service agreements, and hold partners accountable to performance and compliance expectations.
Business continuity and administration
- Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
- Maintain facility documentation (drawings, records, maintenance logs, compliance files) and ensure readiness for audits/inspections.
What we’re looking for
- 7–10+ years of progressive facilities management experience in a commercial/industrial/manufacturing or technical environment.
- Proven leadership overseeing maintenance teams, contractors, and vendor networks.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security/access control).
- Demonstrated experience leading EHS programs and maintaining compliance (OSHA/EPA and applicable regulations).
- Solid project management experience with construction, renovation, or infrastructure upgrades.
- Experience owning facilities budgets (operating + capital) and driving cost/energy improvements.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Safety, Business, or related field.
- Certifications such as CFM, FMP, PMP, CSP/ASP (or equivalent).
- Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives.
Physical/availability requirements
- Ability to walk throughout office and industrial environments and access mechanical/electrical areas.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and climb ladders/access rooftops as needed.
- Ability to respond to facility emergencies outside normal business hours when required.
