We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic evaluations using clinical research and medical terminology.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, medication administration, and behavioral health interventions tailored to each patient's needs.
- Manage medication regimens with precision, including injection administration, IV infusion, and botulinum toxin treatment when appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care across inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, and community-based settings.
- Monitor patient progress through vital signs assessment, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluation; adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within EMR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical records standards.
- Provide education on mental health conditions, medication side effects, and wellness strategies; support discharge planning and post-acute care when necessary.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid licensure in your state.
- Proven experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including ICD-10 coding for diagnoses and CPT coding for procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth; experience in telehealth is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments utilizing physiology knowledge and clinical evaluation skills.
- Experience with medication administration techniques including injections and IV therapy; proficiency in patient care procedures such as physical examinations and vital signs monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, hospice & palliative medicine, senior care, or emergency medicine environments. Pay: $107,895.35 - $129,938.49 per year
