We are seeking a passionate and energetic Grill Cook to join our dynamic culinary team! In addition to competitive hourly pay, our cooks participate in a tip-sharing program with the bartending team. This team-based approach allows our kitchen staff to regularly earn well above minimum wage, with most cooks averaging $20+ per hour.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook grilled items such as steaks, burgers, seafood, vegetables, and specialty dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented attractively for optimal guest enjoyment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station, adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures at all times
- Assist with food preparation tasks including marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients for efficient service
- Support menu planning by suggesting new grilled dishes or enhancements based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Follow proper food handling techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage high-volume production during busy service periods while maintaining quality standards
Skills
- Extensive kitchen experience with a focus on grilling techniques such as poaching, braising, and food production methods
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and plating presentation
- Knowledge of food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling protocols
- Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating attention to special dietary needs
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments with high-volume production demands
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering experience, and fine dining standards enhances your versatility in the kitchen
- Excellent serving skills combined with a solid understanding of food industry best practices for meal preparation and food safety
