Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation for Japanese restaurants
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Assist with meal assembly, portioning, and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety compliance
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and meet service deadlines
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient needs and preparation techniques
Requirements
- Tuesday to Thursday 11am-4pm
- Tuesday to Sunday 4pm-10:30pm
- Previous experience in a food industry setting, such as restaurant or catering environment, is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, knife handling, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Culinary experience demonstrating proficiency in meal preparation and food industry best practices
