Overview
Join us here at Grove-R as an Assistant Teacher in our 4-year-old GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) classroom! In this role, you will be a part of a three person teaching team. It will consist of a lead teacher, assistant teacher and a support teacher.
We are looking for someone who has their CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or the willingness to obtain a CDA within a 2 year time line.
Duties
- Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy, math, and social-emotional skills.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop self-regulation strategies.
- Supervise children during activities, transitions, meals, and outdoor play to ensure safety and engagement.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and support teacher to develop and adapt lesson plans.
- Carrying out small group activities.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to promote a supportive and transparent classroom atmosphere.
Qualifications
- A current CDA credential, or the ability to obtain one within the next two years.
- Familiarity with the Highscope curriculum.
Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in daycare, private school, or similar settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early education strategies such as behavior management.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating patience and enthusiasm for working with young children.
