Position Title: Food Service Worker
The Cumberland County Charter School Network (comprised of Bridgeton, Millville, and Vineland Public Charter Schools) is seeking dependable Food Service Worker(s). The Food Service Worker's location may be at any of the school locations.
General Description: The Food Service Worker is responsible for kitchen cleanliness and safety and the preparation and distribution of meals.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare and cook meals for approximately 400 students
· Read menu and complete production sheets to understand the type and quantity of food that will be prepared each day
· Communicate with kitchen staff and administration
· Review for accuracy and oversee delivery/orders for meals
· Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed
· Exhibits a helpful, positive, and friendly attitude
· Properly store and prepares food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
· Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
· Safely utilizes a variety of utensils, including knives
· Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
· Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
· Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures provided in English
- Must be a team player
Salary/Schedule: This is a part-time, contract position scheduled Monday-Friday with varied hours at a rate beginning at $15.50/hourly. Hourly rate is based upon experience and qualifications.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED certificate, required.
Previous kitchen or food service experience, 1-year preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred.
