SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Health Department and Natividad Medical Center are recruiting to fill an Outpatient Services Manager I and Outpatient Services Manager II position.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT – CLINIC SERVICES BUREAU
The Health Department’s Clinic Services Bureau is recruiting to fill an Outpatient Services Manager I position.
The Clinic Services Bureau operates twelve Federally Qualified Health Care (FQHC) clinics and provides care to the medically underserved population in Monterey County. The mission of the Bureau is to provide quality primary medical and dental care services for all residents of Monterey County regardless of the ability to pay. Monterey County Health Department clinics are in Salinas, Seaside, and Marina.
Under the direction of the Outpatient Services Manager II and the Outpatient Services Director, the Outpatient Services Manager I will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the operations of medical and dental outpatient clinics, including a mobile clinic. This position is responsible for the administration of professional contracts, financial management, staffing, and quality improvements. The position will supervise professional and paraprofessional staff.
NATIVIDAD MEDICAL CENTER
Natividad Medical Center is recruiting to fill an Outpatient Services Manager II position.
The Outpatient Services Manager II is responsible for the management of operational, administrative and support functions for the Specialty Clinic, which encompasses 20+ subspecialty services, 38 physicians, and multiple provider teams. This role ensures efficient clinic operations, alignment of facility, supply and regulatory readiness, quality of services, and strong collaboration with clinical leadership and health department clinic leaders.
This classification differs from the lower class of Outpatient Services Manager I in that the latter is responsible for overseeing one or more outpatient clinics, which together provide approximately 1,500 to 2,500 patient visits per month and employ 30 or fewer 30 staff persons.
The Eligible List established by this recruitment process will be used to fill current and future vacancies, both regular and temporary, as they arise.
This classification is part of a flexible series. Incumbents appointed at the lower level of the career series may be promoted up to the higher level of the career series subject to their meeting the employment standards for the higher class and a recommendation for their promotion by the appointing authority in accordance with the Flexible Staffing Program and Guidelines.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Successfully complete a background check to include fingerprinting.

Possess and maintain a valid California Class C driver’s license or the ability to provide suitable transportation that is approved by the appointing authority.

Be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during times of disaster and/or emergency.
