We're growing, and we're looking for a hands-on leader to run our warehouse floor and keep shipments moving on time, every time.
Position Summary
The Warehouse & Shipping Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operation of our warehouse and shipping department, including inventory handling, order fulfillment, shipment packaging, and freight/carrier coordination. This role requires someone who can work at the pace of a growing distribution business while maintaining precision — our customers depend on their gear arriving intact and on schedule.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a warehouse and/or shipping lead, supervisor, or similar role within a manufacturing or distribution environment
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping
- Personally execute and train others on proper shipment packaging techniques to protect high-value and sensitive equipment during transit
- Schedule and coordinate UPS shipments and freight carrier pickups, including LTL and full truckload as needed
- Select appropriate carriers and service levels based on shipment size, weight, destination, and delivery timeline
- Track outbound and inbound shipments, resolve carrier issues, and manage claims for damaged or lost freight
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts and physical inventory processes
- Ensure warehouse safety standards, cleanliness, and organization are maintained at all times
- Supervise, schedule, and mentor warehouse staff; provide performance feedback and support hiring/onboarding as needed
- Coordinate with sales, customer service, and production teams to meet order deadlines and customer commitments
- Maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs paperwork where applicable
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase shipping efficiency and reduce damage/loss rates
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a warehouse and/or shipping lead, supervisor, or similar role within a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Demonstrated competency in proper packaging techniques for shipping durable and/or sensitive equipment
- Proven experience scheduling and managing UPS shipments and freight/LTL carrier logistics
- Working knowledge of shipping software, carrier portals, and freight rate/routing tools
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification required)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lead, set priorities, and manage multiple shipments/deadlines simultaneously
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active on a warehouse floor throughout shift
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shipping to government, defense, or aerospace customers
- Familiarity with case, crate, or protective packaging products
- Experience with freight claims processes and carrier negotiations
