As part of our team, you will be delivering the reliable services, diagnostic expertise and resourceful communication necessary to address the needs of departments across Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
We’re seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined technician to join our team on a seasonal, part-time basis performing annual fire pump testing in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association NFPA 1910 standard. This is a hands-on field position ideal for someone who enjoys working around emergency vehicles, traveling to customer sites, and delivering professional service to fire departments.

Responsibilities
- Perform fire pump performance testing on fire apparatus in accordance with NFPA 1910 requirements
- Set up, operate, and monitor pump testing equipment including flow meters, pitot gauges, hoses, and intake/discharge appliances
- Record and document test results accurately and professionally
- Conduct basic operational inspections of fire pumps and associated equipment
- Identify deficiencies, abnormalities, or operational concerns during testing
- Communicate findings clearly with customers and internal staff
- Maintain testing equipment, tools, and company vehicles
- Travel to customer locations throughout the service region using company-supplied truck
- Comfortable towing draft commander to and from customer sites
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and operational protocols
Required Qualifications
- Proficient use of web browser-based service portals, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
- Travel to customer locations from our shop
- Able to work two 10-hour shifts per week
- Able to work between the months of May and September
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NFPA 1910 pump testing requirements
- Current or past firefighter
- Interest in fire apparatus

Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
