The Gardens for Memory Care at Easton is seeking a full-time Activities Assistant to join our skilled nursing facility in Easton, PA. In this role, you will work under the direction of the Activities Director to plan and implement engaging programs that support the emotional, recreational, and social well-being of our residents.
This position plays an important role in creating a positive and stimulating environment that enhances the quality of life for residents in our memory care community.
The Activities Assistant helps ensure residents’ emotional, recreational, and social needs are met through meaningful activities and engagement.
Assist residents with social activities and engagement such as writing letters, making phone calls, and other personal tasks
Support record keeping of resident participation and progress in activity programs
Assist with mail delivery, escorting residents to activity programs, and preparation of activity areas
Help maintain plants, flowers, pets, and aquariums within the facility as part of the activity program
Assist with preparing the monthly newsletter and supporting fundraising efforts
Make facility announcements when needed
Implement activity programs promoting entertainment, communication, exercise, relaxation, and creativity
Provide residents with craft supplies, materials, and equipment while supervising participation
Encourage resident participation in social and recreational programming to support emotional and psychological well-being
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous long-term care experience or experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred
Strong communication, creativity, and interpersonal skills
Must be 18 years of age or older
