The City of Centerville, a “warm and cheerful” community with a population of approximately 24,000 located southeast of Dayton in Montgomery County has an exciting opportunity for the seasonal position of Public Works Auxiliary Maintenance Worker. This seasonal position works under the direction of the Public Works staff. 40 hours per week (crews work 10-hours a day and 4 days a week from 7.00 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.); no benefits.
- Assists in landscaping activities in and around City parks, roadways, open spaces, and other City facilities.
- Works on brush trimming crews and roadside clean up.
- Set up and tear down for the summer concert series.
- Park grounds waste collection and restroom cleaning.
- May also perform related maintenance work as needed under the direction of Public Works staff.
- Experience in landscaping or other outdoor physical work;
- Strong organizational, team, and problem-solving skills;
- Basic computer skills.
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and be comfortable working in roadways with traffic utilizing proper safety techniques.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
