About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2026/2027 school year. In this role, you will provide speech-language services to students with a variety of communication needs, helping them achieve academic, social, and functional success within the educational environment.
You will work collaboratively with educators, families, and related service providers as part of a multidisciplinary special education team.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations in accordance with IDEA, South Carolina Department of Education regulations, and district procedures.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on assessment findings and student needs.
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to eligible students.
- Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing documentation as required.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers to support student success.
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and a variety of therapeutic approaches, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) when appropriate.
- Support inclusive educational practices and provide consultation to school personnel regarding communication strategies.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to maximize outcomes.
Qualifications
Required
-
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
- Active South Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist License issued by the South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, or eligibility for licensure.
- South Carolina Department of Education Certification as a Speech-Language Therapist (or eligibility for certification).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Preferred

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Previous experience working in a school setting.
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
- Familiarity with Medicaid billing and compliance requirements.
- Experience serving diverse student populations and varying disability categories.
Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply — supervision and mentorship available!
