Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Light Duty Mechanic to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will perform essential maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Duties
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks to keep vehicles in top condition
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering components, and electrical systems with precision
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to complete repairs efficiently
- Assist with wheel alignments and vehicle inspections to ensure proper operation and safety standards are met
- Read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring, engine control modules (ECMs), and other vehicle systems
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Light Duty Mechanic or similar role within an automotive dealership or repair shop
- Strong mechanical knowledge of light trucks and passenger vehicles, including diesel engine repair and powertrain systems
- Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and vehicle diagnostics software
- Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues
- Hands-on experience with auto body repair, welding, wheel alignment, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service equipment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Dealership experience is highly preferred; knowledge of GM vehicles is a plus but not required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ASE certifications are advantageous but not mandatory
