Full-Time | Hybrid Schedule (4 Days In Office / 1 Day Remote)
TOTE Resources is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused, and highly organized Payroll Specialist to join our growing team in Tacoma, Washington. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional employee support across multiple business units.

Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll

Maintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and tax documentation

Audit and review employee timesheets for accuracy

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

Partner closely with HR, Accounting, and operational teams
-
Support payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end processing
-
Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism and urgency

Drive process improvements and system enhancements
-
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee data

3+ years of payroll processing experience
-
High School diploma or equivalent
-
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements

Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
-
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong communication and customer service abilities

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Experience with ADP or Concur
-
Multi-state or multi-entity payroll experience
-
Experience working with union and non-union labor
The salary range is $50,000 to $65,000 annually, with an expected target salary of $60,000 to $62,000 per year. Compensation will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location, and specific job duties.
